I’ve been working on a research paper that I plan to submit to a peer-reviewed journal, and I keep coming across services offering manuscript editing for journal submission. Some claim it can drastically improve acceptance chances by refining clarity, formatting, and style. But I’m wondering is it's truly necessary if you already write well, or is it's more about aligning with strict journal standards? Has anyone here actually tried it, and was it worth the investment?
